For The First Time, Annual Meetings Without Borders
From the 6th to the 8th of June, Paris became once again the centre of ICOM’s activities. The French capital welcomed more than 350 members of our organisation for the 2018 Annual Meetings, held at the UNESCO headquarters. However, this year for the first time, the conference was made accessible to the largest number of members ever via Facebook Live.

What would make a refugee want to go to a museum? How can museum help their immediate situation? Masum Momaya, research Fellow at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, recounts her experience as a participant in a CAMOC workshop aimed to answer these questions and makes five recommendations on how museums can play a meaningful role in the migration crises.

ICOM ICEE has launched its 2018 Webinar Series, which consists of six 60-minute web seminars that showcase relevant examples of best practices and innovation in the exhibition field. The webinars will cover a wide range of topics related to exhibition exchange including development, production, tour management, and logistics. In total, 137 museum and exhibition professionals from 29 countries participated in the inaugural webinar on June 27, organised in collaboration with the Smithsonian Institution.
