The National Library of Israel (NLI) seeks a Director of Global Jewish Initiatives, to drive the Library’s mission to collect and preserve global Jewish heritage and enrich Jewish life worldwide. This senior leadership role will cultivate partnerships, oversee impactful programs, and integrate Jewish world-focused activities across the Library. The Director of Global Jewish Initiatives will collaborate with passionate professionals in an innovative organization dedicated to a timeless mission - to preserve and harness the richness of our past and help build our future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Implement and evolve NLI’s strategy as the Library of the Jewish People
- Partnership Development: Build relationships with leaders, institutions, and stakeholders in Jewish communities worldwide. Represent NLI at international forums and events.
- Program Oversight: Design, plan, and oversee Jewish world-focused programs, ensuring measurable impact
- Capacity Building: Develop a high-performing team and advance Jewish world-related activity across the Library
- Financial Stewardship: Manage budgets and collaborate with fundraising teams to help expand funding sources
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial leadership and strategic vision
- Deep commitment to the mission and goals of the National Library of Israel
- Extensive executive-level management experience in complex, multi-faceted projects
- Results-driven leadership style in dynamic, multicultural settings
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities
- Strong grasp of digital and community engagement to drive growth and impact
- Proven success in building partnerships and collaborations across the Jewish world
- Comprehensive understanding of North American and wider Diaspora Jewish communities
- Superior interpersonal skills, adept at managing within a matrix environment
- Academic degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Native-level English with strong Hebrew proficiency
- Readiness to travel internationally
